Gemini Pro

Gemini Pro is the mid-tier model in Google's Gemini lineup, sitting between the lightweight Flash models and the top-end Ultra tier. It was one of the first widely available models built natively for multimodal input rather than text-only with vision added later, and it still holds up well on tasks like reading charts, describing images in detail, and reasoning over mixed text-and-image documents. It's the version most developers reach for by default through the Gemini API when they need vision support without paying for the largest model.
